VIDEO: Are U.S. Army Helmets Actually Bulletproof?

It’s the helmet U.S. military service personnel have been wearing for decades — a helmet we’re told provides at least some live-saving protection for soldiers on the battlefield. But, how much are our men and women in uniform actually benefitting from wearing it?

The video, uploaded by YouTube’s Demolition Ranch, begins with firearms that you wouldn’t typically see in a war scenario — militants aren’t exactly known for using lever-action rifles. The shooter goes through a variety of these before quite literally rolling out the big guns — that’s when things really start to look scary for American soldiers.

Of course, U.S. military helmets aren’t marketed as something that makes you invincible. But, you probably expect them to provide a bit more protection than what you see below.
